Although it was developed nearly 50 years ago, Bond's method is still useful for calculating necessary mill sizes and power consumption for ball and rod mills. This paper discusses the basic development of the Bond method, the determination of the efficiency correction factors based on mill dimensions and feed characteristics, and the application of the results to designing grinding circuits.

Power draw is not significantly affected by the presence of the slurry in the mill. While the presence of the slurry will effect the charge density, the charge swelling ...
WhatsApp: +86 18838072829The Ball/Rod mills are meant for producing fine particle size reduction through and at the grain size level. They are the most effective laboratory mills for batchwise, rapid grinding of mediumhard to very hard samples down to finest particle sizes.
WhatsApp: +86 18838072829The biggest characteristic of the sag mill is that the crushing ratio is large. The particle size of the materials to be ground is 300 ~ 400mm, sometimes even larger, and the minimum particle size of the materials to be discharged can reach mm. The calculation shows that the crushing ratio can reach 3000 ~ 4000, while the ball mill's ...

WhatsApp: +86 18838072829Rod Mills. In contrast to ball mills, rod mills employ long rods as the grinding medium. Similar to grinding balls in a ball mill, the rods tumble inside the mill to grind materials like limestone or various ores. The lengthtodiameter ratio is kept between and to avoid circumstances that might result in rod charge tangling.

WhatsApp: +86 18838072829We recommend a mixture of 1:2:3 for ball mill and rod mill foundations. The proper water to sand ratio should be carefully regulated since excess water will tend to weaken the concrete even more than corresponding variations in other material ratios. Between 5½ to 8½ gallons of water to a sack of cement is usually recommended, the lower ...

WhatsApp: +86 18838072829The limits on rod mill sizes, requiring more grinding units, and the added space required for rod charging, have contributed to the development of single stage ball mills. In some areas of the world, good quality rods are not economically available, thus eliminating rod milling as a viable alternative.
